Welcome to PQ Girls Softball Registration

Welcome to the PQ Girls Softball Registration page.

The Spring season typically goes from February to May with registration opening in mid-late October or early November.

The Fall season typically goes from September to November with registration opening in mid-late July or early August.

We welcome everyone who wants to play to join our league. If the cost to play is a concern, please reach out to our league president ([email protected]) for more information about scholarships. You may submit your request for scholarships here.

Cost should never be a barrier for anyone who is interested in playing to participate in our league.

We welcome girls to play in PQ Softball from across San Diego County and beyond.

2025 Spring Rec. Season

Welcome to the 2025 PQGSA Spring Rec. Season.

The Spring season officially begins Feb. 1 and plays through the first week of May.

If fields are available earlier than Feb. 1, we will begin practices before then, but only if the City of San Diego allows it.

An end of season tournament will be played starting at the end of April.

Some teams may play an inter-league schedule against teams from other leagues in the area

6U - Will have two (2) events per week; Typically will have 1 weekday practice and 1 weekend game per week
8U-14U will have three (3) events per week:
The season will begin with three practices per week and will transition to one (1) game and two (2) practices per week in mid- February.
As the season progresses, the schedule will move to one (1) practice and two (2) games per week .
There will be an end of season tournament (8U - 14U)
Coaches and Volunteers must register separately
Volunteers are needed - Please sign up online
Jr. Umpires program will be open to 12U and older.

Mandatory Skill Evaluations will be held on Sunday January 5
Winter Select Tryouts will happen immediately following the Mandatory Skills Evaluation on Sunday January 5.
Practices are tentatively scheduled to start Monday January 27th, but may begin Saturday Feb. 1 depending on field availability from the City.
First games are tentatively scheduled to start Monday February 10th.
Opening Ceremonies will be announced at a later date

Registration fees are as follows:

$75- 6U/T-Ball
$25- 8U-14U
$25 Early Bird discount for 8U+ is available until 11/15/2024
$30 late fee applies for all registrations after 12/15/2024.
Registration is open from 10/11/2024 - 1/5/2025.
Requests for registration after this date will be placed on a waitlist.

USA Softball League Ages align with the school year. The age on 8/31 of a given year is the league age they will be for the following Spring Rec. Season.

E.g. -

Players who are 8 or younger on 8/31 of the current year will play in 8U in the following Spring, but players who turn 7 on or after 9/1 will play in 6U
Players who are 10 or younger on 8/31 of the current year will play will play in 10U in the following Spring, but players who turn 9 on or after 9/1 will play in 8U
Players who are 12 or younger 8 on 8/31 of the current year will play will play in 12U in the following Spring, but players who turn 11 on or after 9/1, will play in 10U
Players who are 14 or younger 8/31 of the current year will play will play in 14U in the following Spring, but players who turn 13 on or after 9/1, will play in 12U

Age divisions are segmented based on the following birth date ranges:

6U - 09/01/2017-8/31/2020
8U - 09/01/2015-8/31/2017
10U - 09/01/2013-8/31/2015
12U - 09/01/2011-8/31/2013
14U - 09/01/2009-8/31/2011

Requests to play up must be submitted to the board for consideration. Guidelines for playing up are listed in our Supplemental Rules

Refund Policy: If cancellation is requested before Mandatory Skill Evaluations (MSEs) , a full refund (minus the SportsConnect $3 processing fee) will be issued.

There will be NO REFUNDS once MSEs have been held for players.

Exceptions to this policy can only be permitted with PQGSA Board approval.
