Fall Ball Season
Fall ball is a program designed to help players to keep their softball skills fresh in the off-season, as well as a place for all players to further their softball skills.
Most PQ teams will participate in the North County Fall Ball league for recreational play for the purposes of development. Optionally, some advanced teams may participate in other leagues with a larger focus on competition vs development. Managers of advanced teams will select their own players from those who indicate interest during the registration process. If your player is selected for an advanced team, you will be notified by the manager. Players who are not selected for an advanced team will be placed on a recreational team.
All players will register via online registration. Registration will be open to all players who will be in the 6U (T-Ball), 8U, 10U, 12U, or 14U age divisions for the upcoming Spring Rec season.
Registration begins in July. Online registrations will be date and time-stamped when payment is received and this will determine the order of registration. Team size will be determined by the number of registrations per division.
While there is no guarantee that all registered players will be placed on a team, every effort possible will be made to place all players. Players not selected during the team drafts will be placed on a waiting list.
Practices are typically on Friday evenings and Sundays (until games begin).
8U+ Players should be aware that all Sunday games are double-headers. Games typically begin at 9 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. and last approximately 3 hours for both games. Home games are played at Canyonside Park in PQ. Away games involve travel to other North County area fields. Teams playing in an advanced league may play across Southern California.
6U teams will only play a single game on Sundays for approximately 1 hour.
If you have any additional questions regarding registration or the selection process please contact our Fall/Winter ball Coordinator at [email protected].
