Scorekeeping Documents

Thank you for agreeing to be an official scorekeeper for PQ Girls Softball.  Whether you are new to the game or have experience in it, there are a few items we want to ensure everyone is aware of to ensure consistency in our games.

If you are nervous or uncertain about scorekeeping, please know these three items are the most important things to track:

1. The pitch count (balls and strikes) for the current batter
2. The number of runs scored in the inning (and score of the game)
3. The number of outs in the inning

If you’re able to keep these three things in mind, you will cover the majority of the responsibilities of the scorekeeper. 

We recommend teams use the GameChanger app to keep score as it helps facilitate many of the nuances of scorekeeping automatically.  However, if you would prefer to use a paper scoresheet, that is also acceptable.
